NATIONAL OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP DAY 3

The third morning was only slightly warmer than the first two, and warmed into the high 50's by the afternoon.
The first brace of the day was the 17th with Merritt's Zachery, being handled by Terry Merritt. The first find of this brace was divided with all in order. Zachery then scored two additional stylish finds on his way to the front with all in order. However as he caught the front this young dog also caught a bird ending his bid. Merritt's Zachery

Crow Creek Redbud and Merritt's Zachery's divided find. Crow Creek Redbud went on to have one more stylish find before being lost to the rear for a time.

Elhew Signature

Brace 18 was Elhew Signature and Triple L's Cate. Cate scored the first find with Signature backing. Signature then scored a find and need a relocation unable to re-establish point. He regained the front in time to back Cate on her second find. Cate then hit the road and was gone. Signature went on to have two more finds then was found buried up on point for his last find. He was not showing the desired range the judges were looking for.

The final brace of the Championship was a bye brace with Slim Jim, handled by Bob Ecker, Jr. He broke away with his running shoes on and was not seen and the tracker was called for ending 2010 running of the U.S. Complete National Open Shooting Dog Championship.
